Usury, Interest and the Law

Apparently as Governor Tim Pawlenty tried to support Shariah compliant finance, but he soon backed off.  I think all state intervention is any economic system is a bad idea.

As Noonan traces the theory of usury in the West he inadvertently notes that it is the state that legitimized usury, not the Church.  We need separation of business and state.
